Laura served as an active duty United States Army officer for over eleven years before transitioning to the Army National Guard where she holds rank of Major. During her tenure on active duty, Laura served as a Human Resources Officer and a Congressional Fellow. She deployed to Kirkuk, Iraq with the 1st Infantry Division. Laura was awarded the Bronze Star and was also recognized as the Human Resources Officer of the Year for the United States Army. After returning from combat, Laura went on to serve as an aide/advisor specializing in personnel issues serving in the Pentagon, the United States Senate, the United States House of Representatives, and in the White House. She currently works at LinkedIn and previously was employed at the White House and Facebook. Laura holds a B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point, an M.B.A. from the University of South Carolina, a M.P.S. in Legislative Affairs from The George Washington University, and is a graduate of the Army Command and Staff College.
